Tok Umi had just shown me a list of surahs she read during Adik Ama SPM examination.. which is a lot. Amal is a means to ask for Gods blessings; as what I'd heard from a bayan " Bantuan Allah ada dalam amalan, bukan dalam asbab"
Some 'Ulama are of the opinion that the whole reading should be completed once every month, though it is preferable to complete one reading every week, as was the practice of the most of the Sahabah. One should start on Friday and read one manzil (halting stage) daily, thus to complete on Thursday. It has already been stated that, according to Imam Abu Hanifah (Rahmatullah alaih), we owe it to the Qur'an that it must be read at least twice a year. Therefore, under no circumstances should one do less than this.
Update on me in EPEMSB.. my bos have been reassigned!; he is no longer responsible for the department; thus we have no manager and have been requested to report straight to Mr. Tiong the SM Engineering. I'd been put in charge of Ethylene Plant only after working for 3 weeks in EPEMSB.. how scary is that! The other funny thing about all these, is the fact that me being the only E2 with 9 years experience working in the department. The guys in the department started asking me for managerial approval like signing off technical evaluations forms, asking for leaves, signing of EMOCS etc. Weird!
