
There was a trip planned for the participants to go to the long house. We were told that is accostume for them to kill 2 pigs( using a long lance.. tombak) at the doorstep before accepting guests. Then there would asked all the guess to have a taste of their 'tuak'.
We were lucky that the guide had already asked them not to. Instead of being served "tuak" we had orange cordial and biscuits in plastics wrapping. None of the poor animal being slaughtered for our behalf and I'm glad that they did not ask me to do that "iban-dancing thing".
Overall it was fun and I was glad that I'd participated.
**News flash.. they're moving to a new teres house next year.. Just at the back with all the facilities.
